Getting Started
Set up your info
Open Settings and enter your email (used for range-day reports) and your default Owner name (auto-filled when adding new weapons).
Allow notifications
The first time you set a low-stock or maintenance threshold, iOS will ask for notification permission. Allow it to receive alerts when ammo runs low or a weapon is due for service.
Weapons
Add manually
Tap + on the Weapons tab and fill in Mfg, Model, Caliber, Nick Name, Serial, Owner, and magazine count. Accessories (Scope, Red Dot, Bipod) live in the same form.
Import a CSV
Use the + menu, then Import CSV. Headers must be exactly:
Mfg, Model, Caliber, NickName, Serial, Owner, Magazines
Tap Create Sample Template to get a starter file. UTF-8 BOM and old-Mac line endings are handled automatically.
Maintenance tracking
On a weapon's edit screen, set a Maintenance Interval (e.g., 1000 rounds). The Maintenance section shows Total Rounds, Since Last Service, and turns red when the interval is hit. Tap Mark Maintenance Done to reset the cycle.
Maintenance alerts
When a range entry pushes a weapon past its interval, a notification fires (once per cycle). A red Maint chip appears on the weapon list and detail until you mark maintenance done.
Ammo
Basic info
Manufacturer, purchase source, caliber, price per round, grain weight, and bullet type (FMJ / JHP / SP / Ballistic Tip).
Inventory
Set Total Purchased when you first add ammo, and tap Log Purchase whenever you buy more. Rounds Used auto-updates from your entries, so On Hand = Purchased − Used.
Low-stock alerts
Set a Low-Stock Alert threshold. When on-hand drops to or below it, you get a notification (once per dip). Logging a purchase re-arms the alert.
Add ammo while logging an entry
Inside a range-day entry, when you pick ammo for a weapon you can tap + in the picker to create a new ammo record on the fly. It gets auto-selected when you save.
Ranges
Indoor vs Outdoor
Set the Venue field on each range. This controls whether the Weather section appears on entries at that range (it hides for indoor ranges).
Auto-fill with current location
On the Add Range screen, tap Use Current Location to populate the name and address from where you're standing. Requires Location permission.
Rate the range
Slide the rating from 1 to 10. Add notes for whatever matters to you, such as cleanliness, staff, or distances available.
Optional pricing
Record what the range charges for lanes, paper targets, and rentals of eye/ear protection. Leave at $0 if not applicable. These show up on the range-day report.
Range-Day Entries
Create a new entry
Tap + on the Entries tab. Pick the date, the range, and how long you were there (hours + minutes).
Guests
Flip the Guests toggle to log who came with you. Add Once attaches a person to this entry only; Save & Add also stores them in your reusable guest list for future range days.
Weather (outdoor ranges)
For outdoor ranges, the Weather section appears. Tap Log Weather to expand, then either enter temperature, wind speed & direction, and humidity manually, or tap Fetch Current Weather to pull from Apple WeatherKit using the range's coordinates.
Log every weapon you fired
Tap Add Weapon for each gun. For each one:
- Pick the weapon (search by nickname, mfg, model, caliber, or serial)
- Choose a Session Type (Practice / Match / CCW Drill / Mag Dump)
- Pick the ammo
- Enter rounds fired
- Add distances
- Attach a target photo
Timers & Scores
Log PAR times, individual split times from a shot timer, and scores like 98/100 on a B-8 target. Useful for tracking competition and drill progress over time.
Distances
Tap Add Distance to record each yardage you shot at (e.g., 5, 15, 25, 50). Swipe a row to remove it.
Target photos
Pick a photo from your library or take one. The photo is attached to that specific weapon for that range day and travels with the email report.
Session Notes
At the bottom of the entry, jot free-form thoughts about the whole session, such as weather notes, gear observations, and what to work on next time.
Search & Sort
Weapon picker
When choosing a weapon during an entry, use the search bar to filter across nickname, mfg, model, caliber, and serial simultaneously.
Sort menu
Both the weapon and ammo pickers have a sort menu (up/down arrows).
- Weapons: Nick Name, Mfg, Model, Caliber
- Ammo: Mfg, Caliber, Grain Weight, Bullet Type
Email Report
Send yourself a recap

- Per-weapon details (session type, ammo, distances, PAR/splits/score)
